A recount was conducted on 14 November 2008, to fill a vacancy for Councillor on the Break O'Day Council following the resignation of John Warren on 3 November 2008.
Vic Cato has been declared elected to serve until the next general election of the Council in October 2009.

Clarence City

A recount was conducted on 29 July 2008, to fill a vacancy for Councillor (Alderman) on the Clarence City Council following the resignation of Brendan Blomeley on 16 July 2008.
Beverley Evans has been declared elected to serve until the next general election of the Council in October 2009.

Glamorgan-Spring Bay

A recount was conducted on 2 March 2009, to fill a vacancy for Councillor on the Glamorgan Spring Bay Council following the resignation of Noel Stanley on 17 February 2009.
Larry Gibson has been declared elected unopposed to serve until the next general election of the Council in October 2009

A recount was conducted on 7 July 2008, to fill a vacancy for Councillor on the Glamorgan-Spring Bay Council following the resignation of Howard Harris on 23 June 2008.
Noel Stanley has been declared elected to serve until the next general election of the Council in October 2009.

Glenorchy City Council

A recount was conducted on 1 July 2008, to fill a vacancy for Councillor (Alderman) on the Glenorchy City Council following the resignation of Steve Mav on 16 June 2008.
Steven King has been declared elected to serve until the next general election of the Council in October 2009.

King Island Council

A recount was conducted on 26 March 2008 to fill a vacancy for Councillor on the King Island Council following the resignation of Peter Castleton on 6 March 2008.
Peter Youd was declared elected to serve until the next general election of the Council in October 2009.

Meander Valley

A recount was conducted on 24 July 2008, to fill a vacancy for Councillor on the Meander Valley Council following the resignation of Michael Kelly on 10 July 2008.
Rodney Linger has been declared elected to serve until the next general election of the Council in October 2009.

Waratah-Wynyard Council

A recount was conducted on 2 May 2008 to fill a vacancy for Councillor on the Waratah-Wynyard Council following the resignation of Darren Fairbrother on 22 April 2008.
Clay Walsh was declared elected to serve until the next general election of the Council in October 2009.

A recount was conducted on 2 May 2008 to fill a vacancy for Councillor on the Waratah-Wynyard Council following the resignation of Malcolm Fenton on 23 April 2008.
Colleen Dibley was declared elected to serve until the next general election of the Council in October 2009.
